The Korean Language, or Hangeul, is like most Asian languages, difficult
to master for most Westerners.  Learning to speak Korean fluently might take
two or three times more effort and time than learning a Western language like
Italian or French.  Nevertheless it remains a fascinating dialect and if
you're interested, get a good language learning book/CD combo
or phrasebook like the ones shown below to the left.  You will not be expected
to speak any Korean at school and some schools don't like it if you do.  
Some do find it helpful so here's a couple of survival phrases for use in
and outside of the classroom:
